We know that safety and health are on top of everyone’s minds right now due to COVID-19. This unprecedented situation has definitely changed the way people think about things, including summer trips with the family. And while there is always a potential risk in a public area, we’ve ramped up our own precautions so that you can enjoy a family outing and visit our animal friends as safe as possible.
Here are some of the things we’ve done to help keep Aggieland a safe and fun family destination.
Social Distancing
One of the best ways to stay safe but still have fun is to practice social distancing. At Aggieland, we ask that all guests avoid overcrowding walkways and help maintain a distance of at least six feet from others in your area. We have made it easier to stand six feet apart by conveniently marking them on our grounds. In places like restrooms where there are fewer options to socially distance ourselves, we have set up guidelines posted outside the doors to encourage healthy behaviors.
Additionally, we have separate entrances for guests who are arriving and those who are leaving in order to minimize contact between groups of people.
Hand Sanitizer
Keeping our guests safe does not stop at social distancing — in addition to keeping six feet apart, we have set up hand sanitizing stations across the park. This provides guests with many opportunities to sanitize their hands and reduce the spread of germs. You’ll find these conveniently placed everywhere you might need them, including registers and animal feed stations. We ask that before anyone uses these public stations that you use hand sanitizer first.
Personal Protective Equipment
In accordance with local county public safety guidelines, we require that all guests wear masks when indoors or when social distancing isn’t possible. This simple step can help reduce the spread of COVID-19, especially in areas where distancing is difficult. It’s also strongly suggested that guests also wear masks outdoors. If you don’t have a mask or forgot yours at home, we have a limited number of masks available for purchase.
Online Tickets
Though we still offer tickets at the door, we’re now encouraging you to get your tickets online. This can help dramatically reduce long lines, and the close contact that can come from groups of people waiting to buy tickets. Also, buying your tickets online also provides you with a bit of a discount and you get your own entrance, so it’s a safe, quick and economical way to enjoy our park!
COVID-19 has changed the way our world works, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun too. With these precautions in place, and protocols being followed, we are dedicated to maintaining a clean environment that everyone feels safe in.
