Native to Africa, Ostriches may not be able to fly, but what they lack in flight they make up for in other areas. For starters, they are the largest bird in the entire world. That’s right — they are even bigger than emus! They can also run faster than any other bird or two-legged animal — reaching speeds of up 43.5 miles per hour.

Ostriches have an omnivorous diet. Since they do not have teeth, they swallow pebbles and store them in one of their three stomachs. These pebbles then help them grind whatever food they end up eating. On average, they live between 30 and 40 years. You can come see and feed our Ostriches by taking our complimentary bus tour through our safari!
