Giant Flemish Rabbits are a breed of rabbit that truly live up to their name! They typically grow up to 32 inches long — nearly three whole feet! They can also weigh between 14 and 20 pounds. Their ears can also be very long, too. In fact, when their ears are standing straight up, they are up to eight inches in length!
Researchers believe the earliest Giant Flemish Rabbits date back to the 16th or 17th century, first showing up in the Flemish region in Belgium. The first Giant Flemish Rabbits were gray, and they now come in a variety of colors, including white, black and, in rare cases, blue! Come see them in the walkabout during your next park visit. Seeing a Giant Flemish Rabbit in person proves how much they live up to their “giant” name!
