One of the first animals our guests see when they enter the drive through section is a huge guy with an orange, shaggy coat. He is one of our Scottish Highlanders, a hardy breed of cattle from Scotland. Their coat is so thick and strong so they can live comfortably in the very cold areas.
Because many Scottish Highlanders live on snowy mountains, food can sometimes be tricky to find. They use the long, heavy and wide horns on top of their heads to break through snow to find grasses and other plants buried underneath. Males can reach an impressive weight of up to 1,800 pounds! They are also known to have a calm demeanor, spending most of their time grazing for food.
